Here in the South heading to the beach in October is actually a fantastic time to go. The weather was in the low 80's pretty much everyday with sunny sunny skies. There were very few people there although the other side of the house we rent was rented. The people were super cool with 2 dogs. May actually meet up with them in the future. The kids had a blast as there was a sand bar not far out so they could play in the water without too much worry about the waves. It is so much fun now with Emmi as she likes to ride the waves too.
Jacob pretty much fishes the whole time we are at the beach. He had some bait fish which Emmi was brave enough to pick up. Moo not so much and screamed when Emmi came near.
Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it.......
At low tide the kids would walk back and forth and swim inbetween the shore and the sand bar. With Murph running back and forth too. So much fun. Emmi and I also rode waves while Marli followed suit in the tube. Everyone seemed to have a blast.
We always hit the island playground.
Of course there was a family splash fest. Murph wanted in on the action. He loves loves the water.
After such a great time thinking this year could be the last year due to Emmi in big school now and Jacob & I want to go away next year for our 10th anniversary... we may just have to reconsider or do a long weekend. We love this vacation time.
